Inspirations: Meg Moon

Meg Moon: A painting by Richard K Blades, inspired by Megan Tomsett. The moon symbology in this painting and other work relates to Meg and the many journeys she and the artist take together in an ongoing dialogue of both aesthetic and emotional significance.

A Durham Psychology graduate and therapist, Megan became a great influence on Blades’ work and her presence can be found in many paintings. From direct references to shared song titles, the moon motif takes on a deeper meaning, beyond merely the pictorial, it becomes representative of that which illuminates the nocturne.

The moon, a navigational guide to both sailor and artist. In the night sky, over an ocean that she may rightfully call her own.
